Lansdowne Police Blotter

February 27th, 2007 - March 9th, 2007

On Friday March 9th, 2007 at 1000 hrs, during a lockdown of the Penn Wood High School, Upper Darby Police K-9 officer Gerry Desantis' dog alerted on a students locker twice. The student, Robert Horn 18yrs old of the 100 block of Chestnut Ave. in Darby was asked to open the locker. Located inside a jacket were seven plastic bags containing suspected marijuana. Horn was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and disorderly conduct.


On Thursday March 8th, 2007 at 0735 hrs, The Lansdowne Police Department responded to a report of a large fight in the area of East Stewart and Highland Aves. Upon investigation, suspect Bryant Reddy 20yrs old of the unit block of N. Highland Ave. attempted to flee from the police. After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was caught and arrested. A set of brass knuckles was retrieved from his person during a search incident to arrest. Reddy was charged with Weapons violations, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.


On Tuesday March 6th, 2007 the Lansdowne Police Department responded to a report of a hit and run accident in the area of N. Wycombe and Powelton Aves. Pursuant to an investigation, Dennis Hayden 32yrs old of the 100 block of E. Essex Ave. Lansdowne was arrested and charged with DUI and related traffic offenses.


On Monday March 5, 2007 at 1142 hrs, the Lansdowne Police Department responded to a report of a bank robbery that had just occurred at the Eagle National Bank on W. Marshall Rd. Three black males entered the bank armed with guns and made off with a large amount of cash. According to a witness, one of the die packs exploded prior to the actors getting into a silver vehicle. The vehicle was last seen traveling south on Owen Ave. toward Plumstead Ave. Sgt. Daniel Donegan is the lead investigator on this case and can be reached at 610-623-0700.


On Thursday March 1st, 2007 at 2034 hrs, the Lansdowne Police Department responded to a report of a hit and run accident at the intersection of Marshall Rd. and Congress Ave. The victim stated she was struck by a silver SUV traveling west bound on Marshall Rd. This vehicle did not stop to render aid or relinquish information. Upon investigation, the striking vehicle was located on the unit block of W. Plumstead Ave. Shani Bonham 32yrs old, of the unit block of W. Plumstead Ave. was identified as the operator of the vehicle at the time of the accident. Pursuant to the investigation, she was charged with Driving while under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances and related traffic offenses.


On Wednesday February 27th, 2007 at 0738 hrs, the Lansdowne Borough Police Department responded to a report of a large fight inside of the Penn Wood High School. Upon arrival, security officers and staff had all of the actors in custody. A search of one of the juvenile male student's jacket revealed a loaded Kel-Tec 9mm hand gun. The student broke free from police and attempted to flee. He was tackled by pursuing officers about one block away. He was charged with a weapon possession and related offenses.
